What are the specifications of the Emma original mattress?
You can push your hand in relatively quickly, and it gets gradually firmer beneath that so about a 6 out of 10. As far as the feel is concerned, it integrates memory foam and latex-like qualities so there’s going to be some bounce to this mattress which you’ll see here. Bounces right up there. Beneath that there is memory foam, so you’re not going to get the sensation of getting stuck. In general, it’s a balanced feel, I would say. Now I’m going to talk with you about how I feel about different sleeping positions. Beginning on my back, first thing I observe is that my hips sink in, but not excessive. Pretty encouraging feel in general, so a great match for me there. When you’re on your side, changing on to my side you have this zoned building and construction so it’s a little bit softer. It’s in fact a very good match for me here. I don’t really feel any pressure whatsoever on my shoulders and hips. It’s a good match for me on my side. Changing on to my stomach, I would say it’s a little bit too soft for me. If you sleep on your stomach actually any way, I ‘d probably look elsewhere.
You ‘d probably desire something a bit firmer than this mattress. At Mattress Clarity we like our pressure map test. I wish to speak about my experience with the Emma Mattress. In regards to firmness, Joe stated this was a 6 out of 10. I thought it was closer to a 6.5 or 7 out of 10. That’s due to the fact that I’m a bigger person, I’m pushing even more into the mattress, feeling some more firmness than Joe did. In terms of sleeping positions starting on my back, a really, very good match for me, general support. I feel less assistance on my lumbar location too, so great for back sleeping. Moving to my side, I would usually worry about feeling some firmness on my shoulders and my hips, but there is some zoning on this mattress. It’s really softer under my shoulders and my hips. A good match for side sleeping. Relocating to my stomach, the mattress is absolutely too soft for me. I’m a bigger individual so I’m bowing at the hips rather, getting out of alignment. What does all that mean? If you’re a heavier back or side sleeper, this could be a great match for you. If you’re a much heavier stomach sleeper, I would look somewhere else. Joe: If you sleep with a partner you’re going to wish to think about motion transfer. Essentially, if your partner is moving around on that side of the bed, is that movement going to be isolated or transfer over to you and potentially wake you up at night? To evaluate that I have a glass here. I’m going to produce a little disturbance around the glass. We’ll see how this glass responds. See that it’s moving a bit, however it is isolating movement pretty well. I also had Martin on my team jumping in and out of bed, create a bit of disturbance. I didn’t really feel movement transfer over to me. I would say that this mattress is a respectable alternative for couples. , if you sleep with a partner or you like sleeping towards the edge of the bed.. You’re going to want to think about edge assistance. Can you sleep or sit towards the edge of the without seeming like you’re going to fall off? I’m on the edge here. You can see that the foam is collapsing quite a bit. Not always the best. I’m going to get down on my back now. I’m getting that rolling of the bed feeling a bit. I would say in this case the edge support is relatively typical. Let’s talk through some of the pros of this mattress. If you’re looking for a medium firm mattress, or something a little bit softer than medium, you’re absolutely going to like this mattress in general. This does a terrific job at relieving pressure so I think you’re going to discover this to be a really excellent match if you’re a side sleeper. I think you’re going to discover this to be a good match as well if you’re a light or medium weight back sleeper as well. This has memory foam in it, but it’s extremely breathable.
